    So, shall we… have a pee in the pool.

    At the beginning of the twentieth century, a new literary genre called Esperpento, whose creator was the legendary Galician writer Ramón María del Valle-Inclán, was born in Spain. The series of Torrente films, conceived by Santiago Segura, are a cinematic echo of this artistic movement.

    My whole generation has grown strongly influenced by the irreverent and  black humour of the run-down ex-policeman José Luis Torrente. The second film of the series, entitled ‘Torrente 2: Misión en Marbella’, contains a chemical urban legend that many people believe true. (more…)
